Interview in person or by video call

Interview objectives:

  • Determine the candidate's ability to fit within the team

  • Determine candidate's ability to deliver results

  • Measure motivation / excitement of the candidate regarding the position and MESG

  • Establish salary expections

  • Depending on the position, several interviews with the three founders plus the relevant team may be necessary


After the interview process, an offer is made to the selected candidate. Once both parties agree on the remuneration, it is recorded here in this document


Employees of the MESG Foundation are hired as contractors. They need to provide an invoice every month with the agreed upon salary

You will have access to all the resources you need for your work:

You won't have access to all directories. Please request access to additional directories on an as needed basis.


Do not create any new directories - Contact someone with "MESG Foundation" access to add additional directories


Please join the Discord and make sure to have the role team


Create a Monday account to be added to the relevant boards


Create a Github account and watch the handbook repository to get notifications on changes in the MESG Foundation operating procedures

Bonuses are calculated every 6 months based on the work and objectives for the period

Bonus value will be estimated in USD but will be distributed in tokens and/or in USD*.

The bonus USD/token rate will be calculated on the first day of the bonus payout

The distribution of this bonus will be:

  • 40% of the bonus immediately
  • 15% of the bonus 6 months later
  • 15% of the bonus 12 months later
  • 10% of the bonus 18 months later
  • 10% of the bonus 24 months later
  • 10% of the bonus 30 months later


Bonuses can be accumulated every 6 months.

This distribution also depends on the Algorithmic Token Distribution (ATD) and should follow its rules.

* The ratio between USD and token will be decided by MESG Foundation.


Expenses are reimbursed when salary is paid. All expenses need to be justified with an invoice in order to get a refund.

Please try as much as possible to ensure in advance if your expenses will be covered.


Expenses needs to be sent to expenses@mesg.com before the end of each month

Here are a few expenses that will be covered:


All trip fees are covered as long as it is business related.

  • Conferences
  • Hackathons
  • Travel to meet someone
  • Transportation to meet someone
  • Visas
  • Accommodations during events


Accommodations can be booked by Airbnb for Work, make sure to book as part of the company with the mesg.com email.


Most of the courses should be covered as long as there is a reason for it. We highly encourage everyone to look at courses that can be beneficial for their work in any way.

Time off / Remote work

We care about results more than time. If you can do your entire job in one week, then spend the rest of the month on holiday go for it 😄.

Holidays are important to release stress and come back with more motivation than ever so, we don't worry much about them.

Also, you might need to take some time for personal reasons, but still want to work or partially work, so make sure to log that the same way than your holidays.


For time off and partial time off, make sure to notify the team on time.

Consider a one-week notice for less than a week holiday, and a two-week notice for more.

There are still some rules to ensure that everything works well even when you are not here.

Add it to the company-level calendar MESG Availabilities with the following format:

You don't have to provide any reason for time off as it might be personal, but if you want to, it's always nice to know where you are.

Make sure that when off, everything you are working on is accessible so you don't hinder any other team member's work flow.

This is super important and if it's not respected, this could impact your next holidays.
